The department of interfaculty foreign languages ​​has been functioning at Nukus Pedagogical Institute since 1954. The founders of the department were J.A. Allamuratov, swallows of the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute P.Kurbanazarov, A.P.Rogach, M.O.Diment, I.V.Shukhmina, D.J.Lebel. A number of experienced teachers T.Dosanov, T.Ermanov, S.Ya.Virva, A.N.Rublyova, Z.J.Urumbaeva, G.Boranbaeva, A.Bekmuratova, N.Kurtebaeva and U.Iklasov worked at the department. Every year the department is replenished with young, enthusiastic and active staff, and now has 34 assistants.

The work of the clubs is carried out according to the established work plans. Additional classes in English and German are held for gifted students of the institute. In addition to classroom work, members of the department hold debates on English and German languages, programs dedicated to the birthdays of famous representatives of English and German literature. The Center for Professional Development was established on the basis of the department with the support of the British Council. The center organizes seminars and trainings for English teachers of the republic on the methods of teaching foreign languages, provides the necessary textbooks, helps to participate in webinars, online courses. In particular, the institute organizes English language training for teachers, prepares students for international certificates.
